Born and raised in Omaha, Tony Sorrentino graduated with a degree in accounting from Creighton University. He stayed at Creighton for law school, where he earned his Juris Doctorate.
Tony spent 45 years in the business community providing professional services in accounting, law, and employee benefits consulting to hundreds of Nebraska-based businesses. During his 32+ years at Silverstone Group, he served as General Counsel, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and President. Tony has also worked with Mutual of Omaha, Omaha National Bank, and Deloitte during his business career.
He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Creighton University and as President/Founder of Health Plan Fiduciary Compliance, LLC, where he focuses on federal compliance with all laws governing employer-sponsored health care plans, Medicare, Medicaid, and medical malpractice.
Tony also serves as Chairman of the Board for El Museo Latino and as on the Board of Trustees for Doane University. He formerly served on the Metro Community College Board of Directors from 2009 – 2013.
Married in 1981, Tony and his wife Kate have four children and six grandchildren. In his free time, he is an avid long-distance runner who has completed more than 60 marathons and over 300 half-marathons. He also serves as a volunteer coach for the Creighton University Cross Country and Track and Field teams.
Tony is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), an Attorney-at-Law, a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist, and a Certified Life Underwriter/Chartered Financial Consultant who wants to improve the small business climate and tax environment in Nebraska.
